QUE (Quality in Undergraduate Education) grew out of lack of consistency between outcomes for "feeder" courses at 2-year institutions moving to majors at 4-year institutions, but the organizers quickly realized that the same lack of continuity may be found from entry level courses and upper division courses at the same 4-year institution. The book provides the historical background of QUE, current practices, a theoretical framework for deploying this strategy in a local department and case examples from chemistry, biology, math, history, and English departments.… (més)
