An interesting read on the early history of America and the men that mapped it. The book is a series of stories describing the different expeditions exploring America and the maps that came out of those adventures. The book is reveals, the motivation behind the men doing the surveying, the need for the maps and the wilderness conditions that they traveled through. I would love to read a non-watered down adult version of this book.

Interesting book about the start of the meter. Lots of controversy over the years as to when to adopt this measurement in the US.
So much easier to use not only in manufacturing but overseas. Hope US jumps on this soon, so much more accurate when measuring knitting also, not just food and liquids.
Liked the part about when the coal miners would weigh the coal brought up vs the weight they bought at the store-2 totally different measurements.
