The SFWA Southern California Reading Series are free quarterly events that allow the Science Fiction and Fantasy community a chance to gather, network, and enjoy readings from local and visiting authors. Mysterious Galaxy is thrilled to be the host venue. Each event features three authors who read from their latest work, followed by a question and answer session and a signing. The featured readers at the inaugural event will be Nalo Hopkinson, Vernor Vinge, and Cecil Castellucci. Kudos to Nalo for recently receiving the Andre Norton Award for Young Adult Science Fiction and Fantasy Book for Sister Mine.

Established in 1968, the Clarion Writers’ Workshop is the oldest workshop of its kind and is widely recognized as a premier proving and training ground for aspiring writers of fantasy and science fiction. As we do each summer, we will be hosting many of the visiting instructors at our store.

Nalo Hopkinson will be the inaugural event for this popular summer series.
