Aimpoint: A US Army Detective Regan Chase Novella (Deception Point Military Detective Thriller Series Book 1), my first read from author Candace Irving, was a 190-page-read that grabbed me and kept me reading until I finished it in one sitting. I'd wanted to read this book since I got it back in May of 2020 yet never got around to it, life kept getting in my way. “I received a free Kindle copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. This was my first read by the author and certainly will not be the last. I truly enjoyed the book and look forward to more in the series and by the author. This was a short story introducing us to US Army CID Special Agent Regan Chase who was after a suspect who was a soldier turned terrorist. She cannot get permission from her boss to have someone trail him so she goes deep undercover to get to know his roommate, John Garrison. She wasn’t planning on getting physically and emotionally close toJohn Garrison but she did and it can ruin her career.… (més)
