First Impressions
Dream of Dragons is the first book in the connecting series by Aja James. This is a series that I have been really eager for. There is something about dragons that just draws me in. As much as I adored the Pure/Dark Ones, one of my motivator's in reading it was to read this series. I will say that these two series are very different if this first book is any indication on what the rest of the series will be like. I really respected what was delivered in this installment. I am not sure exactly what I was expecting, but it went a different direction than I expected because even though I knew it would be different, it was a whole new shift from what she delivered on the Pure/Dark Ones.

First Line
Ere was having the most decadent dream.

Summary
Erubu, along with his mate Sorin, are to fulfill his obligation to the Jade Emperor in the promise he made him from the debt that he owes from the epic battle. They are summoned and called to a mission to go back through time to a time that is obscure in legends.....The Arthurian Court and their partner in crime is Rui, a treasure dragon. Their mission to find the Jewel of Dreams. On their road to finding the jewel, they run into a warrior, who is an infamous dragon hunter "Wolfe". There is an instant connection between Wolfe and Rui, and despite them being on opposing sides of the tournament to win the jewel, they build a powerful relationship, but their love is forbidden because there is no happy ever after on the horizon.

What I Loved
The dynamics within this story was complex and unique in what is delivered. We also get another perspective in how we are taken back into the past. This was a thrilling road trip adventure with a blend of time travel bonded into it. Also you add in some fabulous laughs and a forbidden theme to the romance, its going to be my catnip. The first element to the story that was beyond infectious was the humor. The dialogue from Ere especially, was *Chef's Kiss* he was simply lively and just lightens the mood of the more serious plot that is placed into this story. While this author has some great humor in previous books, there is something about Ere that just adds a unique element in an aspect that I haven't found before in her books.

The plot of the story kept me on edge all the way through. I was fascinated with the world building. I rarely see Arthurian themes in books (And I have read a TON of historical romance in my time of living) so to see the way the author implemented this element was so different. I always knew she could write some superb plots in her stories, but the way this plot is developed on the surface seems like its not super deep, but with chapter, the complexity in the plot on builds greater. This is what truly shows her talent in plot development, is writing such complex plots in manner of ways that you don't expect to be handled. And how the conflict in the end was resolved especially involving the romance had such a deep resonating feel to it and so satisfying.

So even though we have two couples in this story, there isn't much confusion. On the surface, it might seem to be baffling, but it really is a delightful mix in how James really delved these two couples together. Getting to see some fun interactions between Ere and Sorin became so endearing. I apparently didn't get enough of these two in Purity, because seeing these two after their proposed HEA was so poignant at times. We get to see how well they get on together after their story has happened and it only reaffirms why their story is so powerful. Then we have the romance between our MF pairing, Wolfe & Rui, who are simply delightful. They are both warriors and they don't clash in the way that you would expect such strong personalities would. Even though they have such alpha warrior like behaviors at times, they also are both lonely souls yearning for more in their lives. We see how they are able to fill the void they feel and the way in which they are able to connect but also build such a beautiful vibrant bond.

What I Struggled With
So as much as I loved this book, it was far from perfect. The pacing in the first half, felt a bit off. Not sure if it was just a "Me" aspect or what, or maybe it was the author's change in how she writes that added to the pacing element of the story. But I really struggled staying completely hooked into the story. But once we get to the second half, I didn't want to put it down!

Overall View
Dream of Dragons is a story that enthralls you with rich history, fascinating relationships, laughs and thrills, and with the right touch of mystery to have you searching for more!

Favorite Quote(s)
What she wasn’t ready for was being in love. Especially with a man like Wolfe. Her dragon-hunter nemesis. The one and only male she would ever love. The most precious treasure she would give everything for, that she had no choice but to leave behind.

First Impressions
Dark Purity is the EPIC finale of the "Pure/Dark Ones" and this has been the long awaited story for "the creature" and I had such a blast with it. It was utterly satisfying and completely opposite then what I actually expected Erebu's story to actually be. And the fact that this is a MM romance---BROWNIE POINTS because this element was so incredible. From beginning to end, you will be captivated by this powerful chemistry that just melted my heart and kept me at the edge of my seat *Literally*. Dark Purity packs a punch of emotion, thrills and barrels of laughs.

First Line
My name is Benjamin Larkin D'Angelo. That's Warrior Angel to you! (I mean EPIC beginning with some Benji delights)

The Main Protagonists
The Other Protagonist: Erebu aka 'The Creature'
Tortured and Tormented
Blood related father to Benji
Change Forms
Hidden Identity

The Other Protagonist: Sorin
Big badass Viking Supreme
Broody
Secretive
Lots of Grunts
Possessive

Summary
There is a darkness within Erebu, he has had a lifetime of pain and torment and being changed against his will. But this time, he is choosing his own path, and that path is to protect his child, Benji. It's a secret most don't even realize. He has found a new family that accepts him but they have an enemy, an enemy who will never let him go and he will have to destroy her and he knows it will take everything he has and that his time is limited. Then he meets, with Benji's aid of course, a Viking looking stranger, Sorin who is broody and says very little but Ere only wants to be consumed by Sorin. But there are secrets, a identity he isn't aware of, and a love he will find with Sorin....but can he survive the coming battle with the man he loves with the deepest parts of his soul?

What I Loved
Dark Purity melted my heart from the get go. There was something so much "more" to this story than I expected. And seeing my dear Erebu with this viking lookalike who holds him captivated to the point where he can't speak? Yep I LOVED it. There was something about the chemistry between these two that was so heart melting. Literally I stayed up half the night reading their story because I literally couldn't put this down. Their connection is so riveting and deep. You sense from the very beginning that there are secrets for Erebu and boy are there SECRETS and REVEALS!! WOWZA I didn't think that this author could constantly leave me so surprised but yeah she delivered 150% on this one for me.

I first want to get into my favorite character of the series....BENJI. This boy is incredible and his dialogue literally gave me happy feels, the type of feels that gave me the urge to dance in the street like I am in a "singing in the rain" musical. That is the type of goodness and light this little boy conveys and its so endearing. He sets up the story so well and his bond to Erebu literally had me sobbing at times throughout the story.

The romance between Erebu and Sorin was literally EPIC and will make you SOAR! From the beginning, they have a powerful chemistry. Literally, you can feel it bouncing off of them in waves. There is this courting game between them and it was quite fun seeing when the other would fall first. Both are so stubborn haha but determined to win. It felt like watching a romantic game of chess when it came to these two. Then enter in the flashbacks. I know I KNOW flashbacks aren't going to be for everyone BUT these flashbacks were by far my favorite in the series. But they really showcase the HISTORY between these two and WHY their connection is so powerful and where these two originally come from. Then we have the smexy times in the "nest" yeah I adored seeing them together in their nesting grounds lol It was so different and unique and explosive. The MM aspect of the romance was so resonating, it flowed so smoothly and felt so "right" for them. Seeing Erebu and Sorin embrace the precious moments will thrill your heart. They have such a relationship that might seem unexpectation but it fit so well.

Now we have the plot of the story. Okay so this book gets INTENSE! If you need some good thrills and action, then look no further than this one. It was action packed and I felt like I was watching the biggest badass story of my life with these scenes. Our villain, is such a villain. and she really pushes our team that come together to defeat her. And YES we get ALL of our favorites that come into the mix. But seeing their unity and working together and never GIVING up in the end was what was so powerful in the experience of seeing the events play out in the end.

And the ENDING....Yeah I totally didn't see that happening. In all honestly, this book was a whirlwind and only Aja James could deliver such a story. This book is 6 STAR TIER LEVEL GOODNESS and I can't recommend it enough. So NOW BRING ON THE DRAGON ERA!!! Because after this book I need to indulge in this series.

What I Struggled With
Honestly with all these 600 page contemporaries coming out....Aja James couldn't have made this longer??? Because I did NOT get enough of Sorin and Erebu!!! That's my only complaint, their book needed more length because I could stay with them forever!

Overall View
Dark Purity is a powerful tale that sweeps you away into enigmatic thrills, a romance to touch deeply to the soul, delivering an epic finale while ushering in a fresh new chapter....A KEEPER OF THE HEART!

Favorite Quote(s)
Where to start? he wondered.
But then, he realized it didn’t matter. It wasn’t the where that was important. It was simply that he start. - Ere thinking about the bounty that is Sorin

I love the feeling of falling with you. I want the world to be spinning around us when I come inside. When I make you lose your mind, and you plummet and soar to your little death, so I can revive you with my breath and start all over again

This will be another short but quickie review as this isn't a full length and doesn't have a full romance in it.

So this book basically continues on from "Pure Darkness" and we see more background behind "The Creature" (aka Erebu) and his connections to the "Pure/Dark Ones". This is the book that made Creature be fully redeemed for me. We understand what he has done, but we also see that the "mistress" is the true evil behind everything and has manipulated him in the worst of ways. But seeing him connect with his family members was so endearing. And we also got some Dragon lore enter into the story so I am very grateful some of you convinced me to pick this one up. I really want to read his book so bad, but *sigh* I gotta get to Sophie's book first. (I apologize maybe her books I will actually love her haha but she is just a character I haven't felt invested in). Don't worry I will read these in order.

The family connections that are built in this story is what really did it for me. Just seeing the way that they see the good in this poor soul that has been through hell and back and just accept him as he is and then what we see in the final battle scene at the end was really intense and poor Dalair. I really had a blast with this one. I really want Erebu to find a partner, he really deserves to find some happiness.

Overall I had a blast with this one here, and Aja James never ceases to impress me and very eager to continue on with the series and get to the final 2 books.

This is going to be a short and quickie review. I won't be going in depth in this story, there are plenty of other wonderful reviews on this book that do a full depth review that I can't even begin to compete with. If you want those I recommend Princess Under the Covers, Natalie-The Biblioholic, and Starr Rivers. I just want to share my thoughts on this real fast. haha

So first, this is a very short read. You can breeze through this one very quickly. I will be honest I have had a hard time wanting to finish this series (even though I really really WANT her dragon books haha) is that I don't have much investment in these books whether its "The Creature" or Sophia books. Not that they are bad characters to have books in but both of them have a ton of books in the later half of the series that I have to push through haha Now this book is quite interesting. Its not a romance, so don't go into this one expecting one. Its more about the beginning of the Creature's journey to redemption and connecting with his family. I really enjoyed many of these scenes. I still am not invested fully, I do want to get this series completed though so I can get to the books I really want to read haha I understand why so many love these books though and I get it. I am just not strictly invested in some of these characters and more intrigued by the overall plot building for these installments.

Overall, I had a fun time with this one here and had some important elements to the story that contributed to the overall serial plot. I adore little Benjamin though. He has always been my favorite side character in the series. He just delivers charm and leaves you with a smile on your face. Highly recommend you picking this series up if you haven't picked them up yet.
