Brandon Sr's health is declining more and Shane must make drastic moves to ensure all is not lost. The book ends in another cliffhanger so I will need to read the next one. This book pages picks up immediately after book #1. It was too long and actually boring. The dilemma between Brandon enterprises, the cartel, and the struggle for power between Shane & Derek spreads out through 295 pages and still isn't resolved. Emily and Brandon halfway learn to trust each other and her secret she was hiding throughout book #1 really wasn't that exciting. Their sex is steamy and the relationship is still fractured. The Brandon family is horrible and I'm not sure if I'm invested enough to read the next 2 books.… (més)

An intriguing story revolving around Shane Brandon. He's cold & calculating trying to bring the family business into a legitimate business while his dad, mom, & brother Derek thwart every move with bribes, lies, & drug cartels. He's fighting his brother for company control and meets Emily. It's lust at first sight for Shane who doesn't do relationships but he installs her in the company to spy. She has secrets of her own that drag on the entire book and still aren't revealed at the end. Is she on Shane's side or his brother's side? It's a cliffhanger to be continued in the next book.… (més)
