Sprinkled in are personal anecdotes from and about the people who began them, as well as some of the early luminaries of San Francisco. The focus is more on the cable car lines before the Great Earthquake of 1906, but the book includes that and how most of them were closed down by the time this book was published in 1940.… (més)
