I think that this is a good book to read in order to learn about Cinco de Mayo. I like that the author used bold font to highlight certain words throughout the book. She took this a step further by including a glossary that defines these words in the back of the book. I also like that the author included authentic photographs to supplement the text and provide the reader with visual aids. The main idea of this book is that Cinco de Mayo is an important Mexican holiday that celebrates Mexico's victory over France in the Battle of Puebla.… (més)

This book explains how the ancient Egyptians lived with their own used of technology and how theses uses were created. For example, the book describes how the Nile River has a major effect on technology. It also talks about the invention of the calendar based on yearly cycle of the river, invention of the first boat which was called a raft and the inventions of clocks and advances of medicine.
This book gives detailed descriptions on how their tools were created and for what uses. Also how pyramids were created and purposes for them. This book is an easy reader with great illustrations and the words give you a great mental picture.
This book could be used in a science lesson if you were creating a lesson about inventions and can be used as a resource to get the class to become inventors.… (més)
