Benson the playboy pitcher is stuck in limbo not knowing the direction of his future is going because the one guy he looked up to passed away. Willow is in town having a bad day just wanting to get back to her life in New York but there are a few things she must handle first. These two first meet in a seedy bar on a stormy night and their banter is hilarious but little do they know that they will be meeting again very soon. Willow’s life changes immediately and now she is stuck owning a baseball team that needs a drastic turnover. Things between Benson and Willow start off rocky, but certain circumstances slowly bring them together where they must work together to make this team successful. There were a few times I wanted to shake Willow because she had so many walls built around her, she did come off as a tad witchy, then we slowly learn about why she has built up this persona and I could see a little better as to why, still wanted to shake her though. She came off as rude and mean which bothered me, but once we get to her why it’s a little more tolerable. Benson just wants his career and make a huge comeback but the team including himself are struggling and the unknown causes him and Willow to butt heads a lot. He was that cocky playboy, but he was also kind and funny. Until Willow comes up with a crazy idea that just might benefit them both, but we all know with these types of deals feelings always get mixed in and changes things. Overall a fun read that made me laugh and swoon!… (més)

Johnny Malone is a very interesting character that is shrouded in mystery and secrets. He comes off as cruel, defiant, and makes his own path except now he is ordered to see a therapist as a part of his probation. He takes nothing from no one and even though he is on probation you get the sense he is more powerful than he lets on. Becca is a therapist that is great at her job, she can see there is a lot more to Johnny than he lets on, but if he refuses to open up how will she help him? She has a past that has defined her and she tries to hide that part of her life, but Johnny too can see there is more to her story gets under her skin. As these two navigate this building attraction they fight it off as long as they can, but there is so much going on around them that could end up hurting them. This does end on a cliffhanger, but I am so curious as to what will happen with them that I’m excited for the next one.… (més)
