This book talks about the relationship of Chicken and his new neighbor Owl. It takes a while for the two to finally meet because of their different sleeping schedules. This problem leads to Chicken leaving Owl a note saying he will like to meet. The story goes on to show how it takes them a while to interact due to their differences in living but end up meeting and understanding each other. This book talks about the different types of friendships one may have, and how even if people aren't like you, does not mean you cannot be friends. This book teaches readers about compromise. The neighbors both are awake at different times, but learn how to communicate by leaving notes for each other on a board between their houses. This book is most suitable for young readers with easy language and full page drawings.

This book is good for demonstrating the strength of friendship bonds. Chicken and Owl find ways to make their lifestyles work around their friendship. The illustrations, in my opinion, are a bit sloppy, so I believe that the story might be best conveyed through words alone.
