This book packed a punch when it started again. I think my favorite parts of this series was Gavin. I know that I shouldn't love him the way that I did but I was like a moth to the flame. He is over-the-top in his love for Lylah but good lord does it turn me on.

There were a few parts of the story that I really wish had been fleshed out more and this would have ranked higher. However, I can overlook that because it was a worthy conclusion to this trilogy.

This book...

Holy hell. What a rollercoaster book this was. So much suspense. It was intense, I felt for the characters because like them I didn't know what twist or turn was going to come next. So much violence. Yet, through it all, I found that I was drawn toward Gavin. Was he a bad man? In a manner of speaking yet. But his love for Lyla seemed genuine. I cannot wait to see what happens next.

I own this as part of the boxset.

While I enjoyed this book, it didn't have me on the edge of my seat as the first book did. It was missing some of the suspense and twists and turns. I liked it more when Gavin was off the rails in terms of his possessiveness and obsessiveness to keep Lyla safe.

That being said, this was still a great book. I look forward to the conclusion.
