Ummm... wow. Really, wow. This was an amazing book. It blew my mind right out of the water. It's dark, it's hot, it's dystopian. I loved every word. I didn't love every character, but in a book like this, not loving all the characters is probably an OK thing. I disliked Sheriff, quite a bit. I really hope that he gets better in the next book. OTOH, it's not necessarily bad if he doesn't. It will definitely add in a new layer of conflict and interest in the story if he doesn't.

Setora is an awesome character. She's a lot stronger than most people realize that she is, I think including herself.

I can't wait to see what's coming up in the next book. It's going to be so good, I think.… (més)

Ummmmm, wow. I'm pretty sure that's the only word that I can use to describe this book. Just, wow. The authors really know how to keep on our toes and how to make us want to curse their name at the end of the book. Or maybe that's just me, but I definitely wanted to curse some names when I was done with this.

Steel, Sherriff, Pretty Boy, and Hawk are all waiting for Setora to get better. Well, Hawk is sort of off in the distance because he is feeling guilty and PB is really mad at him. But none of them can leave Setora alone with no one around her. She means too much to them. She also means a lot to the other people in the grotto, more than she knows. Cherry comes to sit with her and we find out more about her. The other slaves are also there too, as well as Ace.

I think Setora has become the heart of the grotto. She's making things change just be existing, some of the changes that are happening are purposeful, but a lot of them just kind of radiate from her. I think that's pretty awesome myself.

The Four and Setora are off on a journey, not a safe one, but not one that anyone expected would be as dangerous as it was. There are all kinds of good things and terrible things that happen.

I can't wait to read the next book. I wasn't ready for this one to end, and I think my heart may not start until I can read the next one. It's that intense.… (més)
