Back in the day I never got around to acquiring the authors' "Red Star" series book on this aircraft, but this feels like an expanded version of a book from that series; a VERY expanded version. If you're interested at all in Soviet interceptor aircraft you probably want to look at getting a copy of this book yourself (I was lucky to pick up a copy on the cheap). There's not much that I can mark this work down for, though there is still some of Gordon's tick of bolding the syllables that are to be strongly enunciated in Russian words, and there is a mild spin put on the KAL 007 Incident to put Soviet behavior in the best possible light; though the transcript of communications between the pilot and the command structure the authors provide does not reflect well on Soviet performance.… (més)
