The story shows how humans often push off responsibility. It is a good way to teach children how to not make excuses and stop blaming others for their mistakes.

This book is a very good example of how we shed responsibility as human beings. In the story, it is very similar to the game of pass the buck in which no one is willing to take the blame for what went wrong. I think that this book is great to have in an elemntary text set as a form of incorporating a lesson in which the students learn the importance of accepting responsibility for the wrongful action that was committed.
