Kevin Kwan (1) (1974–)

Crazy Rich Asians really did live up to the title in SO many ways! Personally, it was not my kind of story, as the majority of it was about vain people with too much money and time on their hands to do anything meaningful with either. However, I did love the Nick/Rachel couple and was pulling for them to make it all the way. I felt sorry for Astrid, and if there is a sequel, I hope she will be in it. Charlie was my favorite character. His time in the story was so brief compared to others, but if he was a real guy, I would want to meet him in real life and give him a HUGE hug! Love conquers all. At the beginning of the story, I had a hard time keeping up with all the characters and unfamiliar terminology (but thankfully the footnotes kept me straight), but by Chapter 13 I was hooked and in it for the long haul. I gave it 4 stars because it so detailed and not my cup of tea, personally. That is why my favorite characters were mostly those who didn't have the silver spoon in the mouth and worked their way to the top. I would read it again, though. I would also watch the movie, too, since I have not.… (més)
