I was advised that this was a romance classified as 'sweet' in terms of levels of 'page sizzling' content. It was indeed 'sweet', but it was also very sweet as in old-fashioned. Not that I have actually read any, but it did occur to me that this might be a very Mills & Boon/Harlequin-romance-type novel. It was probably typical in that the format was quite stereotyped and predictable – boy meets girl, falls in love with girl at first sight, does his best to find her when he fails to find out her contact details, chance and luck play their parts, then follow misunderstandings causing boy and girl to break up, but boy and girl can't live without each other, chance and luck are at it again and before you know it, it all ends…….? Don't forget I did say it was predictable.

I liked it – it was indulgently sugary, innocent, charming and gave you a warm feelgood afterglow. It wasn't taxing, it was delightfully easy to read and the author had a very pleasant and especially refreshing style. There was something very clean and crisp in the writing as a result of the author's avoidance of any contractions in the narrative (not a 'wasn't' or 'didn't' to be found). It was very hard not to care about the two main characters, Clare and Rafiq. They were both independent, knew what they wanted and the misunderstandings that gave their relationship the runaround were neatly laced into their lives, never leaving you frustrated or wishing the pace of the story would step up a gear. Not a long novel, but it was well designed.

I think I prefer a slightly more robust romance – something in the middle of 'sweet' and erotica – but it was hard not to like this; it was light, airy and enjoyable, just right for a quick and uncomplicated read.

Rashid had just the right amount of arrogance, mystery and masculinity. Naive, adventurous and strong willed is how I would describe Angelina. Angelina, a foreigner in a strange environment thrust into the unexpected when she meets Rashid. Their differences are what drawing them to each other. I enjoyed the story, found it fresh, fun and entertaining. (https://www.nightowlreviews.com/v5/Reviews/Lashea-reviews-A-Bride-For-The-Sheikh-by-Katheryn-Lane)

Get whisked away to an new land where romance blooms!

This story is packed full of drama, action, intrigue, and some sexy sheikh's. I had a great time getting engrossed in the culture and seeing how two seemingly completely different people can meet and fall in love. The imagery was beautiful and really helped to make you feel as though you were really there.

The romance was nicely paced and I loved seeing theses two slowly fall in love. Despite their obvious differences they were able to find common ground and build a solid foundation for their relationship. This was very good since their relationship tested many times throughout the book.

Rashid was an honorable man who sticked to his decisions and didn't allow anyone to get in his way. He was a fascinating character and I loved seeing him banter with Angelina. I had a great time getting to know him along with Angelina.

Angelina was a will full young woman who was very used to being independent. So the idea of giving up her career to stay with Rashid was understandably daunting. I admired her spirit and tenacity even when the odds weren't in her favor. She definitely wasn't the type to give up easily.

For an incredible romance and exotic locales check out "A Bride for the Sheikh"!

Review:

"Her Latin Lover" by Katheryn Lane was a good romantic read. Only after being brought by Don Paulo from a poker game did Marry realize that her jerk of a boyfriend had sold her to him? What? Not only had Mary found out that she had been sold to this Don Paulo (Latin person) but that she (Mary) had a resemblance of a person he had once loved. Mary was from London and had come to South America with her journalist boyfriend..who had now left her with no money...only to be found abandoned...and penniless. Can you imagine being away from home in another country... with no money? The man who won Mary in the card game has problems of his own..in that he was haunted by his family’s a sorrowful and violent past. What will happen to this young school teacher from London? The novel has some well developed characters that are very sharp in that it will keep you on the edge of your seat.

I enjoyed how Mary was so full of determination and this only leads us to wonder how she will come out of this. This is where I say to find out you must pick up "Her Latin Lover" novel to find out.

If you are looking for some romance that has some danger along with some excitement...you have come to the right place and I would recommend "Her Latin Lover" to you as a good read.
