An autobiographical account of a self destructive period in the author's life. The book's original premise seems to be to explore the lives of offshore workers, in particular how they interact in an almost exclusively male environment. This takes a backseat very early on after the author initiates a tedious and destructive affair with a rigger. There's not much else in the book after this. The relationship takes its predictable course and the premise of the book remains largely unexplored beyond a few superficial observations apparently gained by talking to drunk riggers in Aberdeen's pubs.… (més)
