As the title says, these are three tense tales. The stories are well written. The tension develops without fanfare and doesn't get uncomfortable untill the end. The characters are realistic and are not particularly likeable, which adds to the charm

This book was carefully constructed to make the final picture cohesive and continuous, but the journey to the end seemed mired by excessive detail and dialogue. This is a pity as everything turned out in the end to be pertinent and brilliantly part of of the whole story. Maybe knowing this, you could enjoy the book thoroughly all the way from start to end.

This was an extremely well written book and the author has a good command of the written word. However, the main character was rather unlikeable and the story was very slow. I did like the little twist at the end.
