A survey of classical and contemporary Chinese art, up to 2013, with a good spread of media. Recurring themes are language and calligraphy, landscape, and art and the State. I loved the pure glazes of Song-era pottery; the modern porcelain busts of Ah Xian; the nonsensical calligraphic marvels of Bai Yiluo, Gu Wenda and Xu Bing. I really liked 'Three Friends of Winter' (pine, plum and bamboo) by Zhao Mengjian (1260, Song era) and 'All the Mountains are Red', 1963 by Li Keran.
