An account of the Welsh revival of 1904 written by one who witnessed the event, was converted at one of the meetings and went on to follow its course and eventually write down his impressions. According to R.A. Torrey in one of his books, there had been much prayer for such a happening in Wales and as a result the Holy Spirit swept down, empowered leaders, particularly Evan Roberts, to hold meetings in several small towns which drew thousands to overflow the churches and gradually moved on to encompass most of Wales. People were convicted of their wayward ways; they wept; they fell in the aisles; they went forward for salvation and most telling, their lives were dramatically changed. The author describes in detail the actions of the evangelist, the crowds, the conversions and the press and gives his evaluation of those things that he witnessed. This is a rare phenomenon in our days which all with knowledge of such things agree can only be accomplished by fervent prayer.… (més)
