Andrew McGowan was Warden and Joan Munro Professor of Theology at Trinity College, Melbourne, during the time these essays were written, serving also on the Doctrine Commission of the Anglican Church of Australia and as a Canon of St Paul's Cathedral, Melbourne. Since 2014, he has been Dean of the mostra'n més Berkeley Divinity School at Yale and McFaddin Professor of Anglican Studies at Yale Divinity School.
