If you're really into books about survival stories and unrealistic struggles, I would definitely suggest this book. It has good details of what the two characters do to survive. 4Q3P The cover art is okay and I'd recommend this to middle and high school students. I chose to read this book because it was suggested to me by a friend. AshleyH

A stranger arrives at the shelter, and he goes back out into the ruins of Denver to find more survivors. However, there is something not quite right with this new arrival, and it scares everyone else who eventually makes it to the shelter. Book three in the series follows immediately the action of book two; struggling teen readers will like this one that's written at (I'm guessing here) about a second or third grade reading level. I bought three copies of each title for my high school library.

After 2012 passed, no one thought much about the Mayan end-of-the-world predictions. But Nostradamus was right after all. Set in Denver after an apparent world-ending earthquake and probably quite a bit of other chaos and catastrophe, The Aftermath follows Cecilia and Ryan as they struggle to find food and shelter following the end of the world. A good read for struggling readers, written by a high school student for high school or middle school (or even elementary as there is no language or sex suggested, but there is a scene where the duo leaves behind a 7 year-old that might upset elementary readers).… (més)
