This booklet was produced as a result of a change in the duty on imported wines, which led to an increase in demand. It seems to be addressed rather vaguely at both those wanting to go into the wine trade, and those seeking to set up a private cellar. It’s extremely informative about the legal side of things, the technicalities of storing, blending, fining and bottling wines, and indeed every aspect of the subject. There are sections on beer, cider, and spirits, and an alphabetical list of wine types, by region. Wines from the Cape are mentioned. All in a slim waistcoat-pocket-sized book.… (més)
