In "The Man with the Silver Oar", a Quaker boy named Daniel, opposing his family's wishes, stows away on a ship to hunt pirates. His family believes he is doing a week-long project at the saw pits. When the captain of the ship noticed Daniel, he accepted him to work waterproofing the boat. The crew is searching for the renowned pirate Scarfield. They go to the Barbadoes and find the pirate. Daniel realizes Scarfield is actually his pious, well known, Quaker uncle. The Uncle is killed and Daniel inherits his uncle's ship.

This book was something you couldn't put down. It was great because the ending is not at all as I expected. It had a great plot. I would recommend this book to people who like History. This book was based on the "Golden Age of Piracy". The book was easy to follow because it did not have a lot of characters. It was a quick read because it was so interesting.
