I've long been a fan of Conan O'Brien's humor. Even now, I find myself rewatching old bits and segments from his shows, and I listen to the podcast quite often. Sona's book is filled with tiny anecdotes any Conan fan will enjoy, and gives its reader glimpses into her relationship with her boss -- both their dysfunctions and their friendship.
The book itself is light, and it feels a little padded (there is one section Sona titles simply "Filler") but it's an enjoyable read.
(Audiobook) Movsesian admits her book peaks at the foreword, but her perspective proves likable enough to entertain through the rest. She doesn’t have amazing prose, and it occasionally reads like she was commissioned to write a book instead of having something to write about. Her anecdotes are still amusing and she tells them with a certain humor even if it’s not super clever. Really only worth reading (and especially hearing it from the author herself) if you like her already. It’s short enough not to offend but insubstantial enough not to demand attention. Would’ve been fun if the whole memoir was illustrated like a graphic novel.… (més)
