What the Hex de Jessica Clare
Penny is a goddess and I loved her adventure. Willem has a hidden mushy center that was fun to discover and I like that near the end, it was Penny getting Willem out of trouble rather than the other way around. This book was a ton of fun. I can't really see where the series can go from here, but these two books have been a delight and I'm so glad I read them.
It was okay. I did not like the hero, the TV producer of a "Girls Gone Wild" type of show. He redeemed himself to the heroine by the end, but the about-face from complete misogynist asshole to lovable person didn't work for me. Though the hero is described as beautiful, knowing his attitude toward people I couldn't picture him as attractive.
Eh. He's rich, she's down-home, small-town, real-people and of course not into money. Not bad, but not good.
A predictable cozy Christmas cowboy romance!
Caleb is painfully shy around women, and not all that open even around his brothers. But the moment he saw new local school teacher Amy, he knew she was the woman for him. Problem is he can’t manage much more than a grunt when face-to-face with her, and when he DOES try to speak he garbles the words and comes out with unintended awkward (or downright rude) comments. But he volunteers to play Santa to Amy’s Mrs Claus for the sake of the town’s children. Maybe once he gets to know her, he’ll find a way to speak to her.
Of course, there’s at least one jerk in the picture, and Amy, recovering from a bad divorce, is vulnerable. But Caleb is just so sweet and considerate and always comes to her rescue. It’s inevitable that they’ll get together and the sex will be incredible for both of them (despite the fact that he’s a virgin and has no idea at all what he’s doing).
Well, what did you expect? It’s a Christmas Cowboy Romance … capital ‘C’ and capital ‘R’. Fun to read and a great escape.… (més)
