Is this just a dungeon crawl tarted up with railroading and time-travel hijinks? Yes. And I do not care. 'From the Shadows' is an absolute delight. Adventurers are drawn into the Lich Darklord Azalin's machinations and become complicit in the creation of Ravenloft and then have to fight their way out of the Darklord's castle in Darkon. Why this is possible is part of the fun.

This is the penultimate module to Ravenloft's Grand Conjunction sequence. It is full of lore and sets everything in motion. It can easily be played apart from everything, but without the concluding 'Roots of Evil' it will end on a flat note if the DM isn't careful.

Mischief Maker by Bruce Nesmith is a Norse Mythology book based on Gods and Wars. I have never read any Norse Mythology books before it. I was quite fascinated, how the author has penned down every detail about Gods and their rule. In all the stories which I have heard earlier about Loki were a different tale telling. But, in this one the author has written it from Loki's point. I really enjoyed the book. It was worth a read. The climax is also a bit on the different side.

I would award 4 stars to the book. Thanks to Book Review Crew for providing me an opportunity to read the book.

A faithful conversion of the movie _2010: The Day We Make Contact_ into TSR's Star Frontiers RPG. Officially licensed movie tie-in from MGM/UA. Sketches out the plot and flow of the movie with enough uncertainty and flexibility such that you can turn it into your own story (mostly) without much work. Comes with full size foldout maps of both the USS Discovery and UNCOS Leonov ships. Tries to sketch out the Cold War-era political tensions of the time but falls a little flat in that regard; additionally, the last few generations of tabletop gamers might not understand that.… (més)
