In this third book on Hakkoryu Jujutsu, Shihan Palumbo expands on the techniques and principles of Hakkoryu Jujutsu by further illustrating the important principles of Gakun, Mochi Maware, Maki Komi, Te Kagami, and Aya Dori in the more advanced and suble applications of Sandan Gi. Additionally, illustrations of advanced walking exercises and their application, as well as a section on after class massage for relaxation and elimination and prevention of soreness, stiffness, and injury are provided.
This book illustrates the final phase of waza training available to most students of Hakkoryu Jujutsu. Training beyond this level is based on complete mastery and understanding of these first three levels of training, and a demonstrated ability to fully understand the higher levels of training, i.e., Yondan, Shihan, Renshi Shihan, Kaiden Shihan, and ultimately San Dai Kichu, the highest level of training in Hakkoryu.
Dennis G. Palumbo, Kaiden Shihan-San Dai Kichu, is the founder and Director of the Hakkoryu Martial arts Federation, one of the three international federations sanctioned by the Hakkoryu Hombu-So Dojo to operate and promote outside of Japan. Mr. Palumbo began his study and training in the martial arts in 1958 in Lynwood, California, and has continued his training and study to date.
He currently resides in Aurora, Colorado, where he has his school teaching Hakkoryu Jujutsu and Koho Igaku Shiatsu.
