Twelve months ago celebrity chef Julia Karas died in an apparent accident. Hannah Starvling, a former FBI agent, and now an amateur investigator is asked to look into the case.
The Chef at the Water's Edge is an e-book that I got for free through an e-mail with e-book recommendations. I was in the mood to read a cozy mystery, and it fulfilled my reading needs.
The Chef at the Water's Edge is 3.5 stars for me. The plot is interesting, but I didn't like the perplexity to get us to find out who done it. I also find it a little bit long for a cozy mystery book.
I liked the strong friendship between the main character, Hannah, and two side characters that want to help solve the mystery of the chef's death/murder.
I might continue with the series if I find the second book in another deal… (més)

A nifty medium length cozy that makes for great escapism. Expect lots of twists and red herrings and suspects coming out of the woodwork. There's even a big old dog who has hidden talent. Don't expect CSI or something technical, just good old sleuthing by all of the good guys.
