i wish i could erase my memory and read this for the first time again...such a fantastic mystery that creates an incredibly, unsettling tone throughout. i also LOVE a good fake media tie-in with screenshots of websites, paparazzi photos, newspaper clippings etc. to truly immerse yourself

This is one of the best books I have ever read. I adore it. “Neverworld Wake” is dark and it hurts, but it’s also piercingly smart, pulling back layers of human nature and friendship in a completely new way.
Without a doubt one of the most unsettlingly fantastic YA novels of all time.

This book... Was a wild ride, but like at a kiddy park? It was long-winded, and there were a lot of things left without explanation, and loose ends, and a few plot wholes. Mostly there was just a lot of unnecessary descriptiveness and a few instances where several paragraphs could have been condensed into on, and a few chapters into one and it would be less boring and more beneficial to the story. I will say that the ending was pretty good, by chapter 18 things were finally getting interesting but even then the lack of character development and character depth made it kind of hard to want to give it more than two stars. It was a super interesting topic that wasn't entirely handled well and the parts that were actually interesting lasted a few pages but the not interesting stuff lasted for way to long. I read it with my roommats and that made the experience but otherwise it's an ok book that I want to reccom to people purely to see what they think of it and it's weirdndss.… (més)

This was a very atmospheric novel. Her language, imagery, and the multimedia clips created a spooky and paranoia driven world. i was disappointed with the ending.
