I have to admit that I was a little slow in reading this as I didn't know how to react. Anytime a writer begins writing 'alternate' biblical accounts, I read it very slowly seeing what I can agree with and what I can't. I have to admit that this story impressed me quite a bit.

It goes back in time to before the Garden of Eden and shows how science and the Bible could both be right. It is set in heaven when there is complete peace and no Satan and his minions. Lucifer is still powerful and beautiful as he worships God. All the angels are watching as the universe is created after millions of years. They watch each atom follow along the predetermined course. Though the universe is made how science as described it, it is designed by the Creator who set it all in motion and guided the laws. The angels are curious as to why God has chosen to create the other world. The curiosity turns into questions which turns into doubt. It is the creation and love of man that drives Lucifer to the other side and embrace hate.

The author does an excellent job of pulling the reader into the world of heaven which is never easy. How can one describe such a place that is known only in our hearts and souls? He shows how it can't be explained though it can be felt. The feelings of the angels are just beautiful. Watching their acceptance, their worship, and their joy is amazing. The writing brings each of their emotions to life including that of betrayal, sadness, and hate. It was wonderful to watch with a front row view of what might have transpired in heaven before the dawn of man and in the early years.

Coming from a Christian perspective, I found this to be a very interesting read and one that would be a great addition to a study group or a book club where the members could go beyond the story and discuss the theology behind it. There is so much material here to help generate hours and hours of conversation.

A great read. I highly suggest it. Though it is not presented as a Christian book, I think anyone could enjoy reading it and discussing all aspects of it. I'll be looking for the second book in the series.

Note: This book was part of a book tour with no expectation of a positive review.
