This series was designed with the model builder and week-end enthusiast in mind. What this book may lack in in-depth detail it more than makes up for with some great B/W photos and color plates (although the color plates could be more crisp). There is a nice performance chart in the back of the book covering several variants of the Spitfire (Power Plant, Max Speed, Range, Cruising Speed, Service Ceiling, Armament, Wing Span, Length, Height, Weight Empty, Gross Weight) are all covered.

As a general guide for model builders this book will be more than adequate, casual historians will also find enough information here to pique their interest and perhaps encourage them to purchase more technical data on the Spitfire.… (més)
