In this wordless picture book, the humans leave the house and the animals go wild. Before the humans have been gone for ten minutes, the dog is putting on the human’s tennis shoes and the rabbit is combing her hair with the human’s brush. Other animals are popping out from books and photos on the wall and from where they’ve been hiding behind the curtains. It doesn’t take long for the house to be bedlam. When the humans are seen from the window to be returning, all the animals resume their normal positions and everything goes back to normal. Very fun.… (més)

Wat dit boek onweerstaanbaar maakt zijn de schattige tekeningen van de slaapkamerbeestjes. Bedbugs zou ik ze haast noemen.
Ook ben ik zeer gevoelig voor alternatieve verklaringen voor bepaalde verschijnselen. In dit geval onder andere: blauwe plekken, rommel in je klerenkast, gesnurk en andere nachtelijke geluiden en klitten in je haar.
Rest er nog zachtjes op te merken dat ik het eigenlijk niet mooi geschreven vind.
