The story is dated in that I believe it is one of the first to deal with this type of illness associated with old age. But it is well written and brings up many points still valid today, in spite of our many advances in treating it. As a first person account, it is still relevant.

I have been interested in forensic science, particularly forensic pathology, since I was in about 7th grade (early '60s). I am endlessly fascinated with this subject. So I had high hopes for this book. Baden is a nationally known forensic pathologist. But he is far too aware of his own reputation. Rather than informative, I found this to be egotistical.

Good for someone new to the subject of forensic science, but a little too basic for me. Also, some of the writing was a bit self-aggrandizing...
