This oversize volume is filled with abundant illustrations and provides a popular but informative view of Greek every day life. The best value of the volume is the abundant illustrations and the soundly summarized textual sections that accompany each chapter.

The subjects in the volume include religion and mythology, theater, literature, philosophy and science, athletics and sport, and work and leisure.

Great book that digs into the bare bones of Rome. A truly interested reader will want to cross reference the material and expand upon what the writer already lays out.
