This was an account of Henry Hudson's journeys to North America. The accounts are simple. Yet, the fact remains that Sandler seems to veer off during his course and end up diverting modern day facts about his own expedition to such an extent that it dilutes the core of the book. Instead of being a historical book, it becomes more of a travelogue of his own discoveries ABOUT the research, and story, of Henry Hudson. As, in my opinion, Corey Sandler is more important than the explorer, it becomes disappointing that we are only left with threadbare accounts while we have an abundance of Sandler's own accounts. They are not as interesting as the historical content itself, and it becomes extremely irritating as the narrative keeps shifting. Additionally, Sandler's observations and seemingly "sageness" is rather basic and uninteresting. Therefore, all in all, I found that the book was disappointing and I do not recommend it to anyone. It was not a complete loss, for through reading something you still gain more than had you not, but-- overall, it did not provide me with enjoyment or keen insight.… (més)

Bare-bones information. This covers only the basics, like how to connect to wifi, how to browse online, and how to touch the screen. I would have liked more information about apps, GPS, ect.

An extremely helpful handbook for users of the Nook HD and the Nook HD+. Corey Sandler's writing is easy to read, clear, precise and comprehensive in explaining and describing the attributes of the Nooks and all of their functions, extending from reading and cataloging ebooks, magazines, apps, catalogues; using the internet, email, and playing video; transferring data to and from your computer and many other functions usually found on electronic pads and tablets. Accompanying the narrative are "in-color" photo shots of actual screen configurations, and pertinent "tips"/"warnings" appropriate to each topic. Finally, the index provides a quick and useful reference guide to any question.

I highly recommend this handbook for both newbies and experienced Nook enthusiasts.

I just bought a Nook. Their instruction guide was included on the device, but I like having a hard copy manual when it comes to jumping around instructions. The information is presented clearly, with plenty of corresponding pictures. I had the Nook up and running in no time, and had explored everything within a few hours. Mr. Sandler delivered everything he promised.
