If you're twelve-year-old Molly, you go right after it with the help of your cat, dog, and chameleon, tricked-out bike, and a newfound friend. Set in the 1980s, this delightfully fun story creates a world of arcade games, Soviet scares, neglectful parents, and kids on wild adventures. The pictures are one of the most intriguing parts of this exciting story of the little boy Bingle Bangdoodle and his cooking creations. While the process of creation and appreciation is a central theme to this story, the vocabulary is extraordinary. While many books should be used for a more narrow audience, I highly suggest this book for K-4 while changing the focus on sets of words or literary conventions. With 40+ level two words, this story is filled with flavorful vocabulary painting pictures that ignite interest, enthusiasm and joy in young readers.… (més)

They are instantly best friends and have fun playing in the dirt. After a while Fister is so dirty that even the birds start to complain. He decides he cannot take it anymore and runs home to his mom. His mom barely recognizes him and thinks he is a monster at first. Then she grabs the hose and sprays him down so that she can start to see that it is Fister. It takes his mom so much soap and water to clean him up, but finally after hours he is clean.… (més)

Filthiness comes alive in this energetic tale of the eponymous cur and his clean-freak mother. The grime oozes from every page, and it is, as the previous LT reviewer succinctly puts it, a "funny concept", but I can't see this becoming a favourite.
