Adam Smith (1723-1790) was a key figure in the Scottish Enlightenment. Born in Scotland and educated at Glasgow and Oxford universities, he was a professor of logic and later chair of moral philosophy at Glasgow University. Smith wrote two major classics, The Theory of Moral Sentiments (1759) and mostra'n més The Wealth of Nations (1776), earning him a reputation as "the Father of Economics." mostra'n menys

Very detailed, great analysis and I really learned a lot from this book. Hard to read in sections, as it is written in very verbose, antiquated English.
I would recommend it if you are interested in Economics and want to gain a perspective from first principles.
