Hurricanes is a great book that describes how they form, how destructive they can be, and what happens after. Many people below sea level are affected by this dangerous storm. I would read this to my class because in New Orleans Hurricanes are extremely common. It would be nice to teach them about a real life event and how to prepare for it and what to do if this happened. I would probably teach it in the beginning of the year when it is Hurricane season.

This is a classic non fiction, informational text for those who are deeply intrigued and fond of trees. It includes a table of contents, six chapters, a glossary, a section offering more sources to find out more about trees, a list of sources, and an index. The book uses real pictures of tress so that the reader can more easily identify the trees if they were to see one in person. It is certainly for older students since it is text heavy but it's still a wonderful non fiction text.

A hurricane is the most destructive storm on earth. They can do exactly what tornadoes do, but way worse. Storm surge is a big issue. People under sea level get flooded very often and like New Orleans, there is no way out for the water to go. Most places get the storm surge/wave and it washes back out. Souza also talks about how hurricanes are formed. Great book for all people to understand hurricanes.
