Lumberjanes. [6], Sink or swim de Shannon Watters

To me this was a lot better than volume 5. I can definitely feel something big coming, hopefully in the next volume and I can’t wait til Dec to get it. Now that there are no new volumes I’ll be sure to get my hands on the single issues asap. Also, I really liked the lore that was used in this volume as I knew a bit about it before going in. Overall, super cute and fun as always!

Lumberjanes de Noelle Stevenson

There were a few things I really enjoyed about this volume, like the critique of the riot grrl movement and the little jokes about mermaid tech, as well as the first issue that explained how the girls met! I wasn’t a fan of the illustration style in chapters 18-20 as much as I was with ch 17. Overall this wasn’t the best that Lumberjanes has to offer, but this volume was still a good message. While I was reading, I couldn’t help but feel like this was kind of a filler arc, so I can’t wait to get back to the real meat of the story soon. Friendship to the max!… (més)

Lumberjanes de Noelle Stevenson

This was a perfect read for the beginning of October because of the scary stories the girls told in the beginning! I was especially excited about Molly’s telling of the Tailypo legend since I heard about it on an episode of Spirits Podcast. It was so cool to see it illustrated. My favorite part of this volume was the amount of interaction between Molly and Mal. They are so super cute, to the max! At first I didn’t like the change in illustration style from the first two volumes to this one, but aspects of it grew on me. Separate from that, I really liked the way the styles changed when each girl was narrating their story and how the individual style fit with the tone of the story!
