I do wish there had been more puzzles to solve in this third book, but it had a sweet ending, so I'm happy.

Also, 4-year-old Constance Contraire reminds me so much of my 5-year-old niece, so that made me smile throughout the whole book.

Sadly, I think this has been my least favorite in the series.

Here's what I loved: Now that the Society members are older, they're figuring out how to navigate their friendships differently - especially when individual life circumstances are changing. I so appreciate the way this series handles friendship!

The book didn't have much in the way of clues that readers could figure out alongside the characters (a favorite feature in previous installments), and it dragged a bit, being far too long for the plot.

The characters were constantly tapping their noses and pointing to indicate that someone was correct. This got really old really fast.

I don't regret reading it, but I was hoping for so much more.

The society reunites! I really enjoyed this sequel, as I felt the pacing was better than the first book. However, there didn't seem to be as many puzzles this time around, and the ones that did exist were pretty easy.

I also felt like this one sort of encouraged disobedience to parents and guardians - it's frustrating to me when this sort of trope is present; kids are "smarter" than parents, therefore it's okay that they disobey. I appreciate it when parents are shown as wiser and worth respecting.

But I do love scavenger hunts and I enjoyed catching up with Reynie, Sticky, Kate, and Constance!

A wonderfully fun book! I loved the codes, the spying, the mystery - I just wish the book had been around when I was a kid, as I would have loved it even more then!

Each of the four members has their own distinct personality and giftings, which I appreciated, but the main character, Reynie, seemed to have less negative qualities, so it wasn't perfectly balanced.

The book also felt a bit long at times, though I mostly didn't care, since I was enjoying the story!
