Star loved to play outside with nature. One day a she met little Butterfly that was her friend, and she named him Twinkle. Star and Twinkle always played together outside until one day Star went outside and Twinkle wasn’t there. This made Star so sad, and I was actually sad for Star too! Star kept watching for Twinkle each day and was so sad, until one day she receives something that makes her happy again.

This is such a sweet story. Star is a beautiful little girl and it was watching her play with her friend Twinkle. I like that author Melissa Stuart encourages children to respect and play with insects such as a butterfly.

Adding to the book are the beautiful and wonderful illustrations by Kate Solenova! I love the beautiful colors, like colors of butterflies and the Sunflowers, and all of the illustrations on each page. Kate Solenova, you did an amazing job bringing this story to life! I would love seeing this book in any elementary school library or daycare library.

Butterfly Love from Above is a sweet and heartwarming story about a little girl, Star, who is grieving the loss of her beloved best friend and butterfly, Twinkle. Little Star has to learn how to deal with life without her friend she dearly loved and misses so much. As she moves forward, she learns and discovers joy again by helping others. I really liked this tale and admired Star’s courage in turning to those who are, also, dealing with their own hard times. I loved reading how she was able to find happiness by bringing it for those who are needing it, as well. A beautifully written book to read. It may be mainly for readers between the ages of four and eight, but many, young and old alike, will enjoy it too. I loved it.

Butterfly Love from Above is beautifully illustrated by the talented artist, Kate Solenova. I thought the pictures were a perfect addition to the story. They are so colorful and bright that helps little ones to follow along with the words.

I am giving Butterfly Love from Above five stars. It would make a great gift for young readers who are grieving a loss. I would love to read more books about Star and other life lessons she learns in the future.

For a child who has lost a pet or has experienced similar grief, this is sure to be added comfort.

The Illustrator, Kate Solenova, did a very good job in creating soft pastel watercolor images.

The only negative was the lack of a smooth transition between the first part of he stoy and the latter half.

It has an uplifting message and the author's note at the end of the book about the origin of the story, was a great addition.

I feel the age recommendation is "off". To me, it is too wordy for most three and four year old toddlers. I feel a better recommendation would be between the ages of five to nine.

In Butterfly Love from Above, each day when Star returned home from school, her best friend, a butterfly named Twinkle, would greet her. Star pretended to be a ballerina or a wild pony because she had a big imagination. And Twinkle would always fly above her. But one day, Twinkle didn’t come…

This story is sweet, showing that even in loss we can choose to find joy. And in sharing that joy with others, our happiness grows.

With delightful illustrations of animals, nature, and friends, this picture book is sure to touch young readers hearts. It deals with loss, grief, friendship, and healing. A special touch is that the book is based on a true story. A lovely, meaningful read.
