Big and Little Activity Devotional is a good activity to do with your child or children. This book is good for you and your child to have some 1 on 1 time. As it is to help discuss the faith and the lord in a fun way.

It will help with doing something together and talk about the bible. Though activities. There are quite a few different activities to do throughout the book. I used mostly to color and de stress myself. This book is really good for this time that we are in as well. With all the time we have off and you can not go to church this activity book can help you with that. You do that by doing these activities on a Sunday.

You can even use it as a thing to unwind your day as well. There is a side for your child to use and aside for the adult to use. There Color by Number and other activities. You can discuss the different passages and chat while coloring.… (més)

As soon as the Big and Little Activity Devotional book came out of the package, my daughters (ages 7 & 4) wanted to try it out. As expected, they loved it! Though I limit us to completing one page spread per day, they’ve looked all through the book and expressed their delight over future activities. With about 70 parent-child sets of activities, the book should last us 2-3 months.

The Big and Little Activity Devotional works best for us if I let them complete the activity and then we do the short devotional as they finish up coloring. (For example, a maze that they work through before coloring the little embellishments outside of it.) Each page spread is laid out so that the adult and child sit facing one another and can interact face-to-face. The activities captivate their attention and they thoroughly enjoy them before we discuss the Scripture and thoughts presented.

I recommend the Big and Little Activity Devotional, written by Rachel C. Swanson and illustrated by Jacy Corral, to any parent or caregiver seeking a way to teach spiritual truths while engaging a child with a fun activity.

While I have seen my share of adult and children’s coloring books, I have not seen one that combines both and can be be shared at the same time. The Big And Little Coloring Devotional does just that. It’s format allows the adult and child to face each other with compatible designs while allowing each to explore God’s word and work out their own creativity. Each two page spread includes a simple design with a Bible verse and a more complex design with devotional thoughts that expand on the scripture. Rachel Swanson has created the perfect way for mom and child to interact, have fun, and talk about the promises of God. And there are lots and lots of designs — this book will last a long time. The author shares how the book came about as she looked for ways to spend time with her daughter in prayer and Bible study. She says that the book is a creation orchestrated by the Creator Himself for you and your “little” to enjoy! Swanson has a hit on her hands as she combines God word, her devotional thoughts, and the beautiful designs of Jacy Corral. You are going to love it! Consider adding this one to your holiday shopping list.

Big and Little Coloring Devotional, written by Rachel C. Swanson and illustrated by Jacy Corral, is my first experience with a coloring book designed for sharing between parent and child. I love that the book marries an enjoyable childhood activity with a calming adult activity. Not only does it set the stage for some quality time, but it inserts Scriptures and spiritual truths that mom and child can discuss while they color.

My five year old daughter and I sat down this afternoon to test out the new coloring book. The pages are set so that mom and child can sit opposite each other and the child can work on one page while mom does the other. Well, we decided we wanted to share a page and work together. After about thirty minutes of us both coloring, we nearly completed the page. She said the background should be colored in, but she was tired of coloring. (And truthfully, thirty minutes was plenty for me too.) I was beyond pleased with the experience. We talked, we colored, we made up stories, we spent time together. There were smiles, thoughts, and a bright coloring page to remind us of it all.

Of course, I can not leave out my two year old daughter who also likes to color and it occurred to me that this would be a great morning activity since she gets usually gets up at least an hour earlier than her older sister. Entertaining my young child while starting the day with a relaxing activity.... I'm looking forward to trying that out tomorrow morning.
