Things Sasha Learned From Her Dog Winston During The Pandemic by Marian L Thomas is a cute and colorful story about an energetic and brave little girl named Sasha who loves the color purple and her best friend, her dog Winston. One day Sasha’s mother tells her she has to wear a mask to school and this makes her pretty scared because she has never had to do that before! Just when she thinks she is too afraid to do it, her mother reminds her of a time when her best friend and pet Winston was just a puppy and how cute he was being so little! But more so about how frightened he was to climb down the big staircase. Sasha began reminiscing on how she showed her cute pup how to do it with lots of practice! When Sasha remembers what she did to help Winston feel better, she starts to feel better herself! Sasha taught Winston to overcome his fear just like her mom was going to help her overcome hers!

Things Sasha Learned From Her Dog Winston During the Pandemic is an excellent children’s book that portrays bravery and courage through simply asking how it’s done! What a great book to be used to aid in helping to diminish the fear or anxiety children may have going through a pandemic and how to stay safe and healthy without those bad feelings. This wonderful book is the perfect teaching tool to support the seemingly daunting, yet important new public health procedures that may be required in their schools or learning facilities. Not only does this book portray a perfect example of showing bravery and courage but it also inspires those same values directly to the reader.

This delightful story and book will captivate your children with fantastic bold and eye-catching illustrations along with a perfectly relatable and applicable story. Every child will find it very helpful, especially living in the world we are in today. I highly recommend Things Sasha Learned From Her Dog Winston During The Pandemic by Marian L Thomas for every child’s bookshelf! An absolute perfect read for anyone in need of some bravery and courage, which is all of us. 5 stars.

This is my first introduction to author, Marian L. Thomas. I liked this book as well as the author's writing style. Ms. Thomas does seem to infuse life into her characters as well as building a good storyline around them. I did experience this from reading this book. However, I struggled for quite some time in the beginning to find a connection to both the story and characters. To be honest, it was not until I was about a third of the way into the story that I warmed up to the characters and the story.

Which once you get to the point that I did of connecting with teh story; it is a good one. Learning about Addie's mother's past, it was easy to see why she taught Addie the three lessons that she did. Inner beauty if more important then outer beauty. Knowledge is power. Finally, finding a man who loves you and is in it forever is very important. I would read another book from this author.

This book is written beautifully; the story flows easily, the characters leap off the page; I love the way the author wrapped real life events into the story of Precious Blue Johnson. This story touched my heart, and made me fall in love with Precious, because like her, I was searching for my biological father too.

Blue Butterfly tells more than the story of a girl who becomes a ballerina at a time when black ballerinas were practically unheard of. It also tells the story of unrequited love, prejudice, and family secrets. It has the right amount of drama, along with the bittersweet taste of forbidden love. It makes you want to laugh, cry, fall out, and cuss, especially when Precious reads her mother's journal, and learns what her grandmother did. It had me wanting to strangle that lady, but good!

I'd recommend Blue Butterfly to anyone who's looking for a great read!

For some women having children is something natural, something they look forward to. A child can be a blessing and can change your life forever. However, there are also women who choose not to have children, and the problem is that they are often regarded in a strange way by other people. They start asking themselves questions as to why a woman would refuse to have a child, and they might reach answers that are very far from the truth. In her newest book, which will be published on January 20, 2015, bestselling author Marian L. Thomas explains that if a woman doesn’t want to have children it doesn’t necessarily mean that she doesn’t like children.

“Living the Empty Carriage Way of Life!” is a fun, entertaining chapbook that focuses on a woman’s decision to remain childless. Marian L. Thomas herself made this choice, and she is perfectly happy with it. Her book is a well-balanced blend of non-fiction and fictional elements, and it ends up being a hilarious, yet candid discussion of this matter. First of all, she insists on the idea that being childless is a choice any woman can make, not a movement. Too often people interpret this choice as a sign that the woman who doesn’t want to have children is selfish or too focused on her career. In reality, it has nothing to do with any of these things.

Marian L. Thomas talks about her own case, and she builds a fascinating story that will keep readers glued to the pages. The conclusion is that she has chosen to be childless, she considers it ok, as everyone else should, and she tells all the women out there that it is perfectly fine if they don’t want to have children. They should never listen to what other people have to say or do what the society sometimes tries to impose. It’s all about their choice and their own happiness.

“Living the Empty Carriage Way of Life!” will be available for pre-order on the author’s website on November 7, 2014.
