This handy book addresses the issues of the menopausal process in its three stages (pre-, post-, and menopause) with yoga, including warm-up exercises, yoga positions, and breathing. Photographs (some in sequence) depict the poses. plus stick-woman illustrations show additional correct alignment of the body. The book has a calendar for tracking the progress of your yoga hormone practice. An index directs the reader to the correct pose by English or Sanskrit name, and by the body part being helped. Tips throughout the text specify, warn, explain, or add useful information for specific exercises. The author holds a PhD in an unrelated field, is a certified nutritionist and psychotherapist, and is a certified yoga instructor in Germany. I found this book to be easy to follow and sensitive to people who have difficulty doing the poses. Beginners and intermediate yoga practitioners will benefit.… (més)

I keep trying to be a yoga, meditation kind of person, but so far I have not been successful. This little book did help me get started on some relaxation techniques; maybe I should look at it again.

Valuable little book! Organized and succinct, the author cuts through the sea of available yoga information, and lays out the basics clearly. The book begins with a brief explanation of the endocrine system and the importance of good breathing technique. The poses are described very well and are accompanied by helpful photographs. I appreciated that the names of the exercises are given in English and Sanskrit in the table of contents as well as the index. It's small and compact so you can take it with you which makes it even more useful!… (més)

This handy book was informative and provided postures linked to hormonal balance. With its small size, it could be taken on vacation and used to supplement regular poses. In my yoga practice, I've found hormonal balance from an overall alignment and immunity boost. This book augments that idea and is good for someone new to yoga.
