Sometimes opposites attract.
Since I am a sedentary inside-worker, and never having gone hunting in my life, it might seem reasonable to expect I wouldn't care for this book. But it wouldn't be true.
In fact, I was thoroughly charmed by and drawn into "Idaho Upland Days."
Andrew Marshall Wayment is a lawyer who is writing a book -- but it's not a crime-inspired novel.
Instead, it's about his passion for his state, for Nature, for family.
One of his chapters is titled "Hunting Is Hope," and I have never seen a better recruiting effort for taking up a shotgun, harnessing a hunting dog, and heading into the outdoors.
Author Wayment writes awfully well, with, that word again, charm and passion and an obvious desire to share his love for hunting, for Nature, and for Idaho. And, to emphasize, for sharing.
I cannot recommend this book too much. It is fun and entertaining, but it's serious in its intent to bring others into the joy of bird-dogs and bird-hunting.
It's also full of photos showing his dogs and his hunting companions and his state.
I highly recommend this excellent book.… (més)
