BridgeConnect is a national survey designed to help determine the depth and breadth of bridge programs throughout the country. Quantifying the number and types of programs in operation can help policymakers and funders improve both policy and practice related to adult education. This report investigates a number of education and training programs involving employers in efforts to help disadvantaged young adults attain postsecondary
credentials leading to career track employment. employment. Our model programs meet four
basic criteria:
• Getting low-income youth and young adults
postsecondary credentials that will allow
them to enter and advance in career track
employment.

• Working with employers in industry sectors
important to the region’s economy.

• Maximizing employer roles and commitment.

• Demonstrating portability, scalability, and
