- Author. Born and raised in New York City, Wylie was educated at Boston University where he studied comparative literature. During the mid-sixties Mr. Wylie wrote and traveled in Mexico. More recently (as of 1981), he has spent much of his spare time in the study and firsthand exploration of the Amazon.
