This is the book collection of the Anderson Valley Historical Museum (a.k.a. the Little Red Schoolhouse Museum). We are located in beautiful Boonville, California, just about in the middle of Anderson Valley, which is in the southwest corner of Mendocino County, CA. Our museum campus includes three buildings of exhibits, most of items of which have been donated by members of some of the longest standing AV families. Among our permanent exhibits we have a room dedicated to Boontling, the local dialect invented by AV locals over a hundred years ago and still spoken by some locals today, and a room dedicated to the Native American history of the region. As the name above suggests, our flagship museum building was converted in 1979 from one of the Valley's original one-room schoolhouses. We still have folks in the community who went to classes here.
The posting of our book collection here will be a gradual process.
