About My Library
CVHEN Library is a collection of books and other resources related to the Holocaust - the genocide in which Adolf Hitler's Nazi Germany and its collaborators killed about six million Jews. Library resources including more than 2000 books are currently crowded into a private residence. The library has recently been offered a new home; a classroom space inside the Mosaic Law Synagogue at 2300 Sierra Blvd. in Sacramento, California.
About Me
The CVHEN Library is part of the Central Valley Holocaust Educator's Network. The Central Valley Holocaust Educators’ Network is a dynamic organization that assists California teachers, grades 7 – 12 with curriculum and training to implement California Education Code. California Code Section 51220 states that “instruction shall provide a foundation for understanding ... human rights issues, with particular attention to the study of the inhumanity of genocide, slavery, and the Holocaust, and other contemporary issues.” CVHEN addresses these issues through workshops & follow-up training, ongoing support for local projects, school programs, consulting services and library resources.
